Major cloud seeding operations to commence today

The Department of Rain-making and Agricultural Aviation (DRAA), in coordination with the Air Force and the Army, will launch additional rain-making operations today (Friday), focusing on Thailand’s northern, northeastern and central regions which are experiencing one of the worst droughts in many years.

Five additional Air Force aircraft and one from the Army will join the DRAA’s fleet carrying out cloud-seeding operations until the end of September, after the cabinet allocated a 30 million baht fund for the mission to ease drought in the three regions.

DRAA Director-General Surasee Kittimonthon said that, even though the drought had slightly eased in some areas due to monsoon rains in the past several days, almost 200 reservoirs, including 19 major reservoirs, are running very low and are in urgent need of replenishment by means of artificial rain-making, so that there will be sufficient water for consumption to last through the current and following seasons.

The department of "Rain Making" OMG, can you believe it!

Oh well when the rain starts falling you can hand it over to the "Department of Turning Water into Wine"

I’ve got some magic beans to sell the Thai government if they like.

A lot of pretty ignorant people making light of this on here.  The rain making is a project initiated by the former King.  His patented methodology has been used successfully for years.

Is there anything negative about the stuff they use to seed the clouds,

"The US Public Health Service claims there is a negligible environmental impact by cloud seeding. That said, silver iodide when studied in labs is a different story all together and is indeed toxic and dangerous. This same study says that silver is not known to be carcinogenic to humans",   like everything else What is the truth, if the seed the clouds like they spray chemicals

on the farms ,you can bet they are overdoing it.

It's not the method that's been an issue but the results.

Statistically rainmaking by cloud seeding has at best a 50% probability of success according to international studies. That means there is a 50% probability of nature making rain without any human intervention.

While the technology itself has many variables to success, there are several environmental variables that must also coincide such as clouds must be present (and not moving from the target area or moving into the target area), the clouds must be the right kind of clouds for artificial rainmaking, air traffic and weather conditions (ie., wind shears, lack of visibility) must be such that it permits the Royal Rainmakers to undertake the operation. For example (27 April 2019):

Yes. And the GT 200 bomb detector was patented also.

Prayuth stands by both.

Successfully, or just lucky that they sprayed the clouds  when rain was on its way?

Parts of Australia are still stricken with drought as is Thailand.

Higher cloud seeding means higher concentrations of chemicals in the water supply. Studies show silver iodide is toxic especially to fish and wildlife. Repeated exposure of animals to silver might produce anemia, cardiac enlargement, growth retardation, and degenerative changes in the liver. Appalling anyone could actually be in favor of deliberately turning the environment into chemical soup.
