Old Man Dies Homeless

An old man who was seriously addicted to alcohol for some reason didn’t stay at home with his wife and children.

He chose instead to stay at the side of a road in South Pattaya Soi 17 for 10 years, which was where he died.

At 3.30 pm on 16th March, the Pattaya Police were informed that someone died at the short cut on Pattaya 3rd road, which connects to Soi 17.

The Police and Sawang Rescuers arrived at the scene to find that the deceased man had died in an empty space between 2 buildings with a lot of empty whisky bottles surrounding him.

It was found that Mr. Samai Suksumet, aged 60, is from Nakhon Ratchasima Province. Residents in the area stated that he has been sleeping at that empty space for about 10 years.

He is a very serious alcoholic. On that morning he was walking around drunk. A foreigner passed by and gave him some money, which he immediately used to buy alcohol.

That afternoon it seemed like he was sleeping after drinking and when a resident called him, there was no reply. They checked on him to find that he had died.

His body was taken to the hospital and the police called his family for further religious proceedings.

To quote from another thread (Magazines With Sexually Provocative Photos Of Celebrities And Models Criticized):

Mrs. Rabiebrat Pongpanit, the chairwoman of the Association for Promoting Warmth and Happiness in Families, says many complaints have been made against sexually appealing photographs of celebrities and models on media releases.

I can't help but wonder how much Mrs. Pongpanit's organization targets their efforts on situations like this homeless man with a known family (wife and children), rather than press releases chastising magazines for showing tantalizing photos of famous people?
