Visa exempt entry extension

Featured Replies

Hi,

Well I'm sure this one has done the rounds but nothing immediately in the first page or so of scanning so hopefully not too much of a pain.

My mother is visiting from UK. Entered on a standard 30 day visa exempt entry. Now she has decided she would like to stay maybe another few weeks at least.

Question is I'm not sure today what with all the variability, changes etc how this can best be done. Is it best she just fly some where close and then back again to re-enter or can a visa exempt entry be extended some way in country, or is all of this a big no no these days?

Thanks for your patience and ideas.

Bob

Visa extension, of course. No need for visa run. Around a week prior to visa expiring. 1900 baht.

Ah, okay great. So just go to local immigration office, certainly more convenient.

Why a week before? Is it not a same day service?

Thanks

Bob

It is done instantly but usually they don't except applications too early.

A week before expiration is a rule of thumb.

Ah yes, makes sense I guess. Was just planning activities and best for us would be about 3 days before it runs out ????
