I had a notification as soon I click on it to view it I get that message I already send you

Cant really be sure as the info supplied is too vague, but in most cases it will be because the link or whatever you used to access that post/page/info or whatever has since been removed.

It was probably an advert for some dodgy steroids or similar, so the mods or admins delete it or something but the link still shows in the sidebar.

I've seen it loads of times.

Sorry just seen the post from CharlieH above mine.

That topic doesnt exist, it was removed

so why do I still get a notification

I suppose because the line notification is not related to the topics posted by the members;
so if the member deletes his post, the notification line can not know it.

i surely hope this satisfies the OP.    If not,  i would seriously wonder WHY  eight people are still on this thread.    uh, make that seven

I wrote "I guess" because I am totally nil in computer (and I regret it);
that's what came to mind ... (if I have any):cheesy:

It can be you do not have permission from the moderator to view the content.  More typically it means whoever put up a post has removed it and as a result it is no longer there.

Go to your notification settings and click the one that says Do not send me notifications.

What you are seeing was a spam post that has been removed manually by a moderator, if you refresh the page that screen should then have disappeared and will show only current posts.
