fabman5
Hi, I am in the process of selling my house here in Thailand. Just wondering which is the best way to send some of my money back to the UK ( about 2 million thai baht) I know the banks do it, but I was told I would have to send it in British £ , so the bank makes more money. That was with Siam bank. Could anyone please advise me the way to get the best value when sending it back. Thanks
Pib
Just use your Thai bank. Yes, the bank will convert your Thai baht to your home country currency....that's they way it done. Besides, even if you could get a Thai bank to send out baht the exchange rate given by the western receiving bank would be far worst than the Thai bank exchange rate. The Thai bank will use their TT Selling Rate to accomplish the exchange and charge around Bt400 to Bt1200 as a sending fee.
