Absolutely not a single God-given nor man-given drop of liquid has hit Thannon Ratchapakinai. We've got a good wind blowing for about the last 12-15 hours, though, and have been able to make out ever minor ridges on the Eastern slope of our beloved Doi Suthep all day - so, okay, let Mae Hong Son and Chiang Rai have the rain as long as we can have our breeze.

my hope is also high for the rain to fall . at least i wa shoping it fall for at least 2 hour or more ..

whahah but so far i only can confirm les sthen 20 sec of fall - i went out and saw some rain on the front of some of the cars .

but no sign of pouring rain yet . whahahah

My friend out in Chiang Rai said it was coming down hard and heavy earlier in the evening. SO if nothing else this should help with the air quality... still pulling for rain here though.

With all the crap in the air ... if the rain does come... how much acid will be in it... ??

Most of what's in the air is soot. It's only when you get sulphur and nitrogen oxides from industry that you get acid rain.

Burnt Rubber Chicken? I think it would make an intriguing and catchy brand name.

Oh, and it looks like your sacrifice might have worked, Tatutu. I can see Doi Suthep quite clearly this morning, after not seeing it for some weeks. Many thanks for that.

seriously lack of sleep and the rain seem short lived .

let see

Burn ( is not a good choice as user may relate it to overload and burning smell that come from a bad sub or speaker )

Rubber ( well is usually related to cheap and maybe comdom . )

chicken ( while is a two legged animal . is commonly refer as weak and easily dead )

so i guess is not a good choice :o

i should go sleep soon . but i am half way in my work and the sun is already up

the air is cooler but no sign of a pouring rain .

Dude, don't focus on the words separately -- it's the incongruity of the three together that makes it work so well. Definitely a winner! And it comes with a history behind it! :o

I'm down your way, near Sripoom and was up at 3am bringing stuff in from outside cus it was so windy, but I swear not a single drop of rain fell.

But isn't everyone in a much better mood this morning? :o Can see the mountains, the sky is a light shade of blue, the air is fresh.... how we appreciate things when we've been living in a chimney for a month :D

3:20 am .. i heard rain drop ..and the air is cooling and my hand is aching like hel_l

No rain out here yet but this morning I can see the mountains in the backdrop. The last week it has been totally obcured by the haze.

Maybe the aching hand and the rain drop are related :o

Out early riding my cycle and it is, gasp, cool and clear-ish out there, with a smell of rain in the air. Even if Chiang Mai land had narry a drop last night and it doesn't look like we will get in precip today.

Great even if it won't last. :o

Here in Mae-Jo, we had about 30 minutes' heavy rain, about 03.30 last night - the first for 5 months - and this morning can just about make out Doi Suthep, through the haze.

I thought I had got everything inside, or under cover, now I'm finding the things I forgot about !

Rain here at Lanna 3 (near CMU) last night- had to get up and pull in the furniture on the patio around 3 AM. This morning I noticed water pooled on the plastic sheeting covering the patio below me. Definitely rain, but not much.

Down here in Khampaeng Phet we had a heavy thunderstorm on Monday night for about 4 hours (1/2 filled the fishpond) and it rained again yesterday afternoon for an hour or so.

First real rain since December.

Today is the first day in over 2 months that the government water supply has worked so I am filling all my storage tanks.

:o:D :D

we need to encourge the rains, rainmaking equipment and bring forward songkran might not be enough, maybe a rain dance? perhaps a song :o

A considerable amount of rain last night in my village out near that Prem School. Dirt roads turned muddy with puddles and you can almost see the grass grow. Much relieved.

Ta, it depends. Maybe the rain maxed out at your house, but frankly, we had none out here, except for the fewest "nit noi" drops. Air smells wet; that's about it. Wait - there's a clap of thunder! Hope springs eternal.

Just had a 2nd rain, little more then the drizzle before. Around 6:30PM for 15-20 minutes. Cool outside, smells great, dark overcast. About 6kms out from town on Hang Dong road.
