Bounty for street racers starts September 3

The police are launching an online campaign on September 3, which promises netizens Bt3,000 if they can provide evidence of motorcyclists either racing on the street or preparing for a race and if that tip off results in the suspects’ prosecution within 10 days of arrest, assistant police chief Lt-General Damrongsak Kittiprapat said. 

 

Saying the identity of the whistleblower will be kept confidential, the officer added enough detail and photo evidence should be provided so the arrests can actually result in prosecution. 

 

Tip-offs can be sent through various police-affiliated outlets including 191 and 1599 hotlines, as well as the Royal Thai Police social-media and Facebook pages. 

 

Damrongsak also cautioned people against openly collecting evidence or taking photographs of suspects for the sake of their own safety. He said the reward, which will be covered by public donations, can vary depending on the number of tip-offs and funds collected in the long run.

Please I want a bounty for reporting people who drive while they play with their mobile phones.

100B for each one would be enough to guarantee a good income.

 

But then again it's obvious that police want easy targets. A few 150cc bikes racing is a BIG issue. A rich guy with a Ferrari who kills a cop is not really a problem. TiT!

Will that be  the similar type of bounty for riding on the pavements? How  much they paid out for that then so far.

IMHO its the joe blow with the loud scooter and low IQ that are the real problem ...The racers are just a small group of lost boys,with a James Dean complex...

Absolutely right!!! This is a very big problem with these loud motorbikes!!

Better than pattaya with pubic donations.

As if the clowns can't figure out where most of the problems occur.  

They sure do line up in the afternoon at several locations for the easy money of no helmets/license.  But too lame to figure out or post up at the drag race locations or stop the 120db straight pipes.

You are so right. Not funny at all. Death, injury and mayhem are hardly a matter for a laugh.
