Met office says reports of new storm battering Thailand more "fake news"

The Meteorological Department said on their Facebook site that reports of another big storm hitting Thailand over the next 3 - 5 days were fake news.

They said they were monitoring developments in the South China Sea.

They urged netizens to get their weather news from them only and not spread unfounded rumors.

This is the second such announcement after the met office issued fake news alerts regarding the severity of tropical storm Podul a couple of weeks ago.

Yeah, but this assumes the Facebook Met Office site is genuine. Just a week ago the government's Justice Ministry was warning about a fake Facebook page using its name!

It's getting tough sorting out of the fake news from the fake fake news!

If the Thai system tries to pull the wool over your eyes; by presenting Thailand residents from seeing the truth...

Yes quite a bit of damage but there are areas where everything is still green

OT but I think he gets more turbulence from his female fans.

Fake? Tuesday Afternoon it started raining, didn't stop until Wednesday morning, On the school run most of the first 2 kilometres were completely flooded. Worse flooding I have seen in 6 years on that route. Just sheet flow from the rice fields on one side of the road to he other side. In places water was deep enough the front spoiler had to plough through it. The ponds have flooded too again.

Checked the rice, Tuesday morning, before the rain, 75% dead due to last flood 2 weeks ago.

This was in Udon Thani.
