BANGKOK (NNT) - Prime Minister/Defense Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha called on Indo-Pacific army chiefs to help upgrade the cooperation and confidence in mutual friendships to promote regional peace.

Gen Prayut presided over the opening ceremony for the 11th IPACC (Indo-Pacific Armies Chiefs Conference), being held from September 9 to September 11, 2019 and co-hosted by the Thai and United States armies.

He said the IPACC IPAMS SELF 2019 is a wide forum for networked military leaders at all levels to help promote regional and world stability and support regional and worldwide sustainable prosperity.

The armies can be major instruments of support for governments. Experiences and views shared in this meeting can be applied to varied situations, meet challenges and overcome obstructions in the region on a secure and sustainable basis.

The prime minister called on the participants in the meeting to help turn policy to practice in order to acquire new, valuable knowledge and ideas. Missions cannot be accomplished without concrete operation plans or evaluation mechanisms.

Importantly, friendships can create a joint working atmosphere to promote regional peace and mutual trust at strategic level in the Indo-Pacific region.

The IPACC coincides with the 43th IPAMS (Indo-Pacific Armies Management Seminar) and the 5th SELF (Senior Enlisted Leaders Forum) in which high-ranking officers from over 40 countries in the Indo-Pacific region are exchanging views and reaching consensus on mutual cooperation.

But failing that we'll use our  military might to trample any opposition, good  plan general!

Or they can oust the democratically elected government and install military rule!

They need to toss the army completely out of domestic issues and influence. But that can only happen when a strong less corrupt police force arrives ....perhaps in a couple decades?

We are all pretty much tired of the army in Thailand.  It is like a rash.   It still has conscripts where Taiwan gave up their's recently, and Taiwan has a threat.  In Thailand, the army threatens peace, stability and prosperity.  Just mind numbing.

This statement could be more vague but it would take some real effort to top this one.

Nah, he probably just got it mixed up with a speech he gave to the construction industry last week.

What happens when all those conscripts get tired of the generals and have a mass mutiny
