Thailand’s National Electronics and Computer Technology Centre (NECTEC) and National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) have unveiled Thailand’s first artificial intelligence (AI) journalist, which is claimed to be capable of presenting and analyzing news fast and accurately, like the former editor of The Nation newspaper Suthichai Yoon.

Named Suthichai AI, the AI journalist was introduced to the media on Monday by Dr. Chai Wutiwiwatchai, director of the Information Technology Research Unit at NECTEC.

Dr. Chai said Suthichai AI was modelled after the veteran journalist, who has 50 years’ experience in journalism, with Suthichai’s style and characteristics, including his voice and body movements when he presents news in front of his audience.  He is capable of news presentation in Isan and northern dialects and, eventually, southern dialects as well.

That's an improvement, much easier to make AI reporters disappear when they get pesky, just plug the power out.

Programmed to accept as 100% fact every government report.

Interesting. The Nation has been using NI journalists for a long time so I guess this news could unnerve them.

Have you seen "A.I. Rising" yet? Put it on your rainy day movies list.

What Thailand needs is a few good investigative journalists,it will never

happen as people value the lives of their families and themselves.
