Re-entry permits? How do they work?

Recommended Posts

If I come to Thailand on a 90 day single entry non-imm O visa based on retirement, can I get a re-entry permit and do a land border run on day 90 and get another 90 days on re-entry, or am I dreaming...lol.

No.

You're given 90 days when you enter. If you want to leave and return within those 90 days you can buy a re-entry permit. If you left on day 40, and returned on day 60, they would give you the remaining 30 days of the original 90 days when you return.

No you will not get another 90 day on re-entry. Here you are confusing a multiple entry visa with re-entry permit.

If you had a multiple entry Non-O, and leave the country you would get another 90 day stamp on every entry as long as your visa is valid.

A re-entry permit (single or multi) will only keep your visa or extension valid, which means that you can re-enter and stay the remaining days of the initial entry stamp.
