BANGKOK (NNT) - The government is organizing a volunteer activity to clean the banks of the Chao Phraya river in preparation for the Royal Barge Procession.

Mr Thewan Liptaphanlop, Minister attached to the Prime Minister’s Office, said he had inspected preparations for the Royal Barge Procession and there will be a volunteer activity to clean the banks of the Chao Phraya river on October 2, 2019.

The activity will be organized by the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, the Prime Minister’s Office, the Harbor Department and agencies along the banks of the Chao Phraya River to improve the landscape along the route of the Royal Barge Procession. The opening session of the activity will be presided over by Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha.

Oh it's just for the parade, nothing to do with pollution, so it will looks better when the pictures go over the world, what a shame, Hide it under the carpet again as always.

Saddly ''never let a good deed pass, without the media present '' ...just stop throwing your trash on the ground..

they are trialing a procedural copy of the 'postcard street picture scenario trick',

  - right out of 'The Interview"

(except they here add the bit about including the water)

Cool. Im not doing anyhting that day, maybe Ill go down and pick up some trash. Bet I get free snacks and some good picture opportunities. Good way to meet some nice Thai folks too. Clean ups can be fun! Everyone should pitch in!

All that press and the Police will be watching, those with NO WORK PERMITS will have problems.

The river can be the only breeze in BKK, and you lose the heat island effect somewhat. Never seen a politician, who wasn't a publicity hound.
