Changing to marriage visa

Featured Replies

I asked one immigration officer 3 months ago about changing my working visa to one base on marriage. She said I couldn't do it the monthly way, only the 400k in the bank. Yet, she didnt say it had to be in for any period before applying. If I go this route, can I withdraw after showing the funds, then top them up the couple of months later? That would be convenient for me.

This morning, I went to do a 90 day, without my wife and chatted to an officer I have known for years and she told me that I  could do it. She said just bring  photos of wife and I with house number, kids birth certificate and a bank statement for a year. She said I didnt even need a letter from my work,  contract termination. I asked if my pink Non Thai ID card would be enough, she laughed saying of no they are not worth anything.

So mixed messages.

I asked her if we could request to see her when returning and she said no  we'd  need a number but would be ok.

One strange thing she said was that I had to show that I had at least 40k in the bank at all times. I said the bank wasnrubbisj so I withdrew my thai and foreign income immediately, to which she said ok , no problem

They seem to say oke thing then totally change there minds, I'd they know you.

I guess some are asked  for money If they can't satisfy some criteria.

What office is this? Prachinburi told me a few months ago, that for a Thai wife extension using monthly income I also needed to keep 40KTHB in the bank at all times. I know it's not the real rule.

I think she meant you needed to show income every month not keep 40k baht in the bank all the time.

When get to the point doing the application I am sure you will need show that your income was transferred from abroad.

I didn't know it had to be. I have a Thai income. However, I also have a foreign income for more, so I'll get a letter from the bank saying this, if necessary. Maybe it says on the statement that is was a foreign transaction.

I thought you meant your foreign income since you had mentioned it before.

You may need you PND forms from the revenue department if you are going to use your income from working.
