Chinaman severely injured falling off baht bus

p1N-Sept-30-01-Chinese-falls-baht-bus.jp

PATTAYA:--A Chinese tourist, allegedly showing off to his traveling companions, was seriously injured when he fell off the back of a baht bus.

Katak Ho, 27, received major head injuries at 4 in the morning on Sept. 30, while traveling along Thappraya Road heading to Jomtien Beach.

The unknown baht bus driver fled the scene after taking Ho’s compatriots to their hotel to retrieve Ho’s identification and returning them to the scene. He left before police arrived.

An unnamed friend of Ho’s at the scene told police they had flagged down the baht bus to take them to their hotel. He said Ho “teased his friends” at the rear of the vehicle but fell.

Ho was treated at the scene, then transferred to hospital in critical condition.
Police are looking for the driver.

If the Thai driver was at all to blame, I might agree.

The fact that "Ho" was acting the <deleted>, means it will have no effect at all

If the police hadn't turned up by then he probably thought what is the point?

The defense rests. My Lord.

Dumb and dumber. He was probably drunk, and just lost his hold and fell. Not sure why the bus driver fled. Does not sound like he was at fault. Muscle memory? Fleeing is the first option?

Wait, where's the PC brigade objecting to the headline?

"Chinaman" lol what a headline.

Where was the flag toting tour guide? And surely, the Chinaman can't have been drunk; according to many on here the Chinese just don't go in bars.

No CCTV at the hotel to get the bus number?

In an ideal world, standing passengers should not be allowed, if a passenger stands up the BB should slow and stop at the next stop to let them off and not move until all passengers are seated.

Fines for drivers who ignore the above and fines for passengers monkeying about on the back of a BB.

As pointed out the passenger is in a serious condition as it looks like the medical team were doing CPR.

'The unknown baht bus driver fled the scene after taking Ho’s compatriots to their hotel to retrieve Ho’s identification and returning them to the scene. He left before police arrived. '

The baht bus driver has just been identified, He is Chinese Thai and named 'Mr No Pah King', reason he did not hang around as it was a tow away zone.

The driver while driving has to look at the traffic in front of him. They would need cameras installed to watch the backside. There is a fine for standing on the platform - 2000 Baht. But this guy gets an even bigger fine - the hospital bill. Hope he recovers from this too...

Yeah but I wonder why the driver fled the scene?

Had he had a few whiskies?

Is the 04:00hrs closing time really necessary.....????

So, the driver takes his friends to hotel, waits while they retrieve the ID, then drives back to the scene, where there are still no police in attendance. Plod all asleep at 4am then?

Bit daft to flee the scene when  he'll be all over the hotel CCTV - if it works

And what was happening with the injured guy laying in the street, before the police arrived, while his "friends" and the driver went off to the hotel???  That whole account sounds bizarre!  Unless perhaps the EMTs had arrived (although not mentioned) and were treating the guy as in the photo, but the police had not.

I wonder if a following car hit a chink in the road

Perhaps the accident made him grow a few brain cells
