A Chinese national has been charged with murder after a Thai woman was found dead at a condominium in Thepprasit Road, Pattaya.

The decomposing body of the woman was lying face up on a bed.

The man renting the room was arrested on Friday evening after a bad smell was detected.

INN reported that the man had taken her there and there had been an argument.

Police are waiting for the results of an autopsy and other forensic work. Neither the identity of the victim or the alleged murderer was mentioned.

The woman's background was being investigated.

RTP spokesman Pol Col Krissana Patanacharoen said that national police chief Pol Gen Chakthip Chaijinda had called for care, speed and justice in the investigation.

He wanted society, the Thai public, tourists and investors to be confident that the investigation was handled properly.
