TM30 Wife of House Master is NOT Owner

Featured Replies

Hi ThaiVisa friends,

I just stumbled on "great" experience at ****** Immigration. I live in Thailand for around 12 years and in the last 5 years, I submit the same documents at ****** Immigration for reporting address, TM30 ... 90 days reports.

Long story short, my rental contract is with the wife of house owner and so far in the last 5 years, there haven't been any problems with this, until today!

Apparently, the wife of house owner, just live there... she is not an owner and can't be in this "super official bin documents".... And I was rejected by the respected police/immigration officer with SMILE.

I hope this will get into the newsletter tomorrow, I personally find this ridiculous. What about you?

Same happened with me at IO down south. The IO can see the house possessor in the blue book and he was in hospital at time getting chemo so the wife signed the TM30. Not accepted. No TM30, no more services from IO available. Came back next day with the cancer patients <deleted> sig on his ID copy and they took it.

The OP can also self-file as the Possessor but depending on what the ****** Immigration office is, he may need a signed power of attorney along with the TM when he tries the DIY option.

I did TM30 after trip from abroad a week ago. Had copy of owner's house book, ID card and completed TM30 form, as well as copy of lease and my PP pages.. IO at Nonthaburi didn't want to accept.. Owner must come to office BS.. As far as me filing it as possessor, also will not accept or as an option..

Finally IO accepted my TM30 report after talking with owner on phone, but said next time owner MUST come to office to do.. All the hurdles keep getting higher trying to comply to their BS requirements..

IF the contract is in his name,he can self report as the possessor, and then report himself as the guest.

But,there will always be immigration offices that says otherwise.

Your immigration office is not wrong per se. But of course It's annoying when same documents worked last time.

I had similar problem but owner was in Australia. Had to give wife power of attorney and that worked.

Is there any point to this post ?

The idea of the forum is to give people advice and let them know what the latest immigration requirements are.

Stating that ****** has change the way they do things seems pretty pointless.

In response to berybert: Information with Regards to what immigration will or won't accept at whatever immigration office is valid in these posts.   Rule 12 in aviation, Just because it's been done this way for 20 years, doesn't make it right...

If the OP doesn't mention which immigration office he visited, then it's useless information.
