The supreme optimist is that PM Prayut. With the baht strengthening in value it should be expected that exports will fall even further. A GDP growth of between 2% and 3% is more likely.

He does not care about export, he concentrates everything on his military. Stay in power.

If the army is the country for you, then yes, it's reasonable!

Thailand spends 1.3% of GDP on military spending, Cambodia and Myanmar spend 2.3% and 2.9% respectively. Given Thailand spends a lower percentage and the accepted international guideline is 2%, an increase doesn't seem out of line. This is especially true since the military is heavily involved in narcotics suppression and the long border with Myanmar is a serious problem in this respect.

Who have they got in mind for the military buildup to be used against.

Submarines, tanks , personal  carriers.

Perhaps they will finally acquire some planes for their emtpy aircraft carrier

Reasonable!!!

Yes, we have made significant provisions in the 2020 budget to ensure that all major projects have sufficient padding to keep the flow of Brown envelopes going.

Poor people?

No such thing as poor people in Thailand.

Every one has jobs.

Unemployment rates are zero.
