Which Visa - Help Please

Featured Replies

Hey All,

Okay, so here's the deal. I want to emmigrate to Pattaya in Thailand. I have identified areas of work (my own company) which are not on the "You're not Thai so shag off" list and I'll be coming with approximately 5 Million Baht initially. For me this is a change of lifestyle move (not the pursuit of a Thai Partner). I'm being told lots of conflicting things, Visa wise. One friend tells me to get a Non-immigrant B, another tells me something different. We do not have a Thai Embassy in Ireland, nearest one is UK. I'm not selling my home in Ireland so, although all advice is good, please don't tell me not to be rash etc. etc. I have thought it thru and have been to Pattaya 4 times and love it, its for me. I am 35 so retiree is not an option and I don't fancy paying 2 million baht for the special card. I have money but would like to keep some of it:)

I have put a plan into action which will put me in Thailand between December 26th and 31st of this year so, although I have time, I'd like to have my i's dotted and my t's crossed.

HELP - PLEASE!!!! : :o

Stick to the guy that tells you to get a Non-Immigrant B visa and make it a multiple entry visa. Get it just before you leave Ireland. There is a Royal Thai Consulate at 18/19 Harcourt Street Dublin 2 Tel : (3531) 475 3928

Non-Imm Cat B is the visa you need but you also need to qualify, so check the criteria and work on meeting ahead of your deadline.

Maybe talk to Sunbelt, sponsors of this site.

They have seen it all before and can save you a bunch of pitfalls later on.

No I do not get a % for saying this
