her biggest issue was the simplest task putting her head underwater

I had a student whose husband was overseas doing military duty. He was already certified and she wanted to surprise him by getting certified as well. Standing in waist deep water in a pool, she could NOT put her face under water while wearing a mask. She really tried but was frightened to the point we refunded her.

Because my main premise is that we shouldn't write about things of which we don't have firsthand knowledge. These are such highly poignant events. None of us really know what happened. I've personally been involved in diving deaths and the news stories never reflected what we who were there saw. I guess I'm just saying let's not guess, let's not speculate, let's just wish the family and friends solace.

If that's what you want then get off the forum, people discuss things here.

"I have run into one day "resort certified" divers before. "

Strange, since a one day certification course doesn't exist.

I know, but never the less I did run into a couple of "divers" who had certification cards after a 1 day resort dive course.

$$$ can get you just about anything except a second life.
