As I travel many times in and out of the country using a Tourist Visa,

Does it help getting a new passport (Since the passport number is new, although all the rest of the details remain the same), or it is of no use as the Biometrics will bypass it and link the two passports to the same person?

It doesn't help. Any past entries with the same name and date of birth are shown to the IO who - once they've confirmed a match - link the passports to the persons entry history.
