One of three Thai women rescued from Sihanoukville in Cambodia has told how she and her friends were imprisoned by a Chinese gang.

The women - named only as A, B and C - were hired in Thailand then flown to Sihanoukville.

They were promised 6,000 Yuan - about 25,000 baht - a month to work 8 hours a day offering traditional Thai massage.

"Nuat Phen Boraan" is massage that does not involve sexual services and nowhere in the Naew Na report was sex mentioned.

On arrival at the airport "A" said their passports were taken away from them and they were taken to a hotel room.

There they were forced to work all day long and had not received any money for two months.

They were effectively imprisoned as they were guarded by members of the gang.

She managed to send a Line message to Sa Kaeo immigration to alert the Thai authorities as to their plight.

Naew Na reported that good work and relations between the Thais and Cambodians had resulted in the repatriation of the three women who were met at the border yesterday.

Three Chinese - two men and a woman - were arrested in Cambodia.

Doesn't sound traditional to me.

Not traditional but normal, especially the "no sexual service".

How do you figure when help captive working in a hotel room with your passports taken?

erm.... i believe i've seen a video of "three ordinary looking thai" ladies in a cambodian hotel room with chinese "guards". the ladies were "massaging" clients one after the other while the "guards" sat around playing cards and drinking beer in the same room.

I have every sympathy for these unfortunate women (along with contempt for some earlier posters!)

My wife is a Thai masseuse of many years experience and what caught up in a nasty situation in Egypt. The Belgium run hotel that she had worked for for 10 years decided to outsource their spa services to an Egyptian run consortium. They promptly dismissed all but one of their Thai staff. My wife being the most experienced and popular was retained. The rest were replaced with Egyptians having had 3 to 4 days training.

When customers found that they had a choice between clumsy inept Egyptian masseuses an the one remaining Thai, they always booked her. Granted, she was paid and was getting commissions, but massaging 8 to 9 hours a day is extremely hard work. She was coming home in the evening in agony and sometimes even crying.

Massage is very hard work and cannot be carried out continuously all day. These girls were very fortunate to have been rescued from this situation and kudos to the Thai and Cambodian authorities who brought it about.

Thanks for a common sense human input. It is inevitable that this kind of report will bring out the ignoramuses and Thai bashers who know nothing of the world of traditional massage.

#1 rule. Never ever give up your passport to anyone.

That's very easy to say when you're in control of the situation.

Thanks for you comments. I was pleased to note that the Mods reacted very quickly to remove some very smutty comments on this thread plus one very insulting comment directed at me personally. The author has now been added to my 'ignore list'.

My wife is a Thai tradional masseuse she is very tired after 5  1 hours massages in one day let alone continuous 8 hour day after day if she had 5 every day for 30 days she would earn 15000 baht.
