Extension given in Chiang Mai (TM30 in Chiang Mai) but want to get a reentry permit at Cheangwattana, what do I need to do to get this and how long does it take say if I arrived at 9am?

I know I can do at the airport on leaving but scared that I will face issues and lose the visa so doing it early would feel more comfortable.

Thanks

Re-entry permits normally can only be issued where you applied for your extension or on departure from the country at some airports and border crossings.

If I do this at the airport - do they open 24/7 and what do I need? how long does it take?

It is 24/7 at both airports in Bangkok. You need nothing more than your passport if you are willing to pay a 200 service charge for them to do the TM8 form, copies and photo.

About 15 to 20 minutes unless they are very busy to do one.

Hello,

Would you mind my asking you a question regarding

a re-entry permit now?

Can you carry over one that you got on your 3-month

Non-B into your 1-year extension?

Thank you in advance.

At Swampy now and got reentry permit. Took a completed TM8 with picture, 1000 Baht and passport. Took 5 minutes. Cleared immigration and said I need reentry permit and IO stamped me out and took me to the reentry desk. Super easy. Used Priority line since I am over 70.

Sorry to re bring this back up, you have to pass immigration before getting a reentry permit?

You have to do it on departure from the country.

The desk for them at Suvarnabhumi is after security before the immigration desks in immigration zone 2.

I think he was in zone 1 and immigration escorted him to zone 2 to get the re-entry permit.
