The fifth-seeded Thai fought back after narrowly losing the opening game 23-25 to completely outwit her Japanese rival 21-15 21-12. The match lasted 62 minutes. She faces third-seeded Chinese Chen Yu Fei who beat American Beiwen Zhang 21-18, 14-21, 21-15 in 53 minutes in the other semi-final.
