Thai Post - Item being returned

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Please could i request your assistance and advice regarding a parcel I sent from Krabi.

We sent a parcel to Australia and unfortunately the recipient was unable to accept delivery of the item as they were not in. It is now being returned.

On the form we filled in before we sent the parcel the clerk selected 'treat as abandoned' in the event of a non delivery. I thought this was strange but he mentioned this is normal

So my question is, what will they do with the parcel? Will it be destroyed upon return since the 'treat as abandoned' is selected or will they deliver it back to the senders address?

Any advice would be kindly appreciated. I've just emailed them so have yet to hear a response.

Many thanks

You'll get a better/quicker response if you call Thailand Post, they speak English, contact centre 1545, (02 831 3600).

Your parcel will be returned for free whatever they checked on the form.

I can't help you on this one, but here, if I'm not in when a delivery is made, the postmen leaves a note saying to collect it at the post office.

Thanks guys, I contacted the Thai post office and they were quick to respond.

The guy did us a huge favour by marking that treat as abandon as it went straight to returns centre which hold it for 60 days

Cheers
