Non immigration ED visa, which countries can I obtain the visa?

Featured Replies

Hello, I am going to apply for a 9 month Non-immigrant visa and I wondered what country I can obtain the visa in, I want to apply anywhere in Asia and I am getting the education visa from a Thai language school in Thailand and they said that I cannot go to Kuala Lumpur and I wondered what the countries I go too that will allow me to obtain this visa.

Are any of these places an option?

Singapore, Philippines,Bali, Cambodia, Vietnam, Hong Kong etc?

The school should advise where to apply.

You will not get a visa that allows you to stay for 9 months. You will be getting a single entry non-ed visa that allows a stay of 90 days and then you apply for a 90 day extensions of it at immigration.

They are probably saying it cannot be done in Kuala Lumpur is due them wanting a police clearance to apply for it.

If it is your first ED visa Vientiane or Savannakhet Laos would be good. Or the consulate in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Penang would also be a good choice.

Most of the ones you mentioned could be a problem.

It is also the Hanoi embassy a good option for my first ED visa or only the Ho Chi Minh consulate? I have already a flight to Hanoi so it would be nice to know if the chances are the same.

Thank you
