Hi

I'm travelling to my fiances' aunts place in Lumphun. I've been there before but last time I drove up from BKK and this time I'm flying, so I want to know whats the best way of getting there from the airport? Not sure if a taxi will take me there (its about 30-40min away from central Chiang Mai), so wanted to know what options I have....prefer not to hire a car as I don't need one once I'm at my destination.

Airport taxi will take you there. I can't remember the price but that will also depend where you are going in Lamphun. Lampang is 1100 baht and that is more than twice the distance.

If you want to save some money, why not take the train? The scenery is nice, plus the trip takes less than a half-hour from Chiang Mai. Don't know when you're flying into CNX, but since most of the trains leave in the early morning and evening, you might want to check the schedule at <thailandrailway.com> to avoid waiting for hours at the train station.
