russians fear mobilisation

Featured Replies

Russian security forces are detaining civilians off the streets and pressuring them to sign military contracts, as reports emerge that the Kremlin is preparing for a new wave of mobilisation for its ongoing all-out war in Ukraine.

In mid-August, the Russian human rights project Idite lesom received 14 appeals from people who said security forces had detained them and forced or pressured them into signing military contracts, either at police stations or directly at military enlistment offices.

There's a massive difference.

The Ukrainians are fighting for their existence as a nation whilst the Russians are fighting for money.

Motivation in the former is much stronger.

Some wonder why Putin hasn't implemented a general mobilisation a long time ago. The Ukrainian war would have been over a long time ago.

Problem is, after the Ukrainian problem is solved, he might keep right on walking. Forcing the Europeans to mobilise. (Mobilising whom and what) ?

I don't care what anybody says. The current aerial war will not be a deciding factor. In the end, it's always the guys that can put the most "boots on the ground". The Russians could mobilise more "boots" than anyone else.

Russia lost more boots on the ground than everyone expected. Quantity alone is not the deciding factor here.

I oppose: Quantity IS (will be) the deciding factor. As before over centuries.

The Ukraine is fully mobilised. How many "boots on the ground" has the Ukeaine lost ? State secret. Probably with good reason.

Well they offered North korean soldiers to the battlefield with no luck so they might as well press gang locals into the meat grinder.

As a percentage of what ? We don't kow about Ukrainian losses (state secret). Russian losses are merely "estimates" by western "social media observers". Without any value.

Western secret services? They have as much knowledge as "social media observers" have.

The front lines have hardly moved for months, why? Because drones have made a 30 mile no-man's land between the opposing forces a lethal area to cross.

The technology has advanced so much in the last four years that sheer numbers doesn't guarantee victory.

Does that mean there will be more seeking refuge in Thailand ,

Russia is losing more fighters than they are recruiting , they

need more cannon fodder ,

I wish motivation would really be stronger on average among Ukranians. But Ukraine is more desperate for soldiers than Russia and coercive recruitment is a source of sleepless nights for many families throughout Ukraine. When you talk to Ukranian refugees eg in Germany, some fear for relatives fighting the Russians, but many more tell of sons and brothers no longer venturing outdoors lest they get picked up by recruitment squads. This is so bad that I've heard many Ukrainians in Germany voice support for Putin (while still moving to Germany where they get help for free with accommodation and money).

Refusal to fight is much more of a problem for Ukraine than it is for Russia with its much bigger (and brainwashed) population.

One must understand how Russia fights, if "the motherland is at stake".

WW2: Russian foot soldiers attacked Germnan front lines, the first 2 "attack waves" were mowed down by German machine guns. The 3rd "attack wave" overwhelmed the Germans because the Germans had run out of ammo for their machine guns.

That's how the Russians fight. Human losses were never relevant. Not in the past, not today.

Russia should conduct a sweep in Phuket, Jomtien and Pratumnak.

Their recruiting goals will be met.

Russia was very wasteful with their soldiers in World War II. They suffered from poor tactics and leadership early in the war.

That was true before the Ukraine's invented drone warfare !

But they learned quickly. "Human loss" never mattered. Not under the Tsars, nor under Stalin. Scholars find that the Russian "national soul" has not changed. As opposed to European States where a "national soul" has vanished. The EU/NATO as a weak substitute.

Finally someone comes along describing the situation without wearing rose coloured glasses.

What about all those fit middle aged ukrainian men, cruising with their ladies all over Europe in their high end cars, obviously with money, but also getting public aid from many european governments ? Why and how did they bribe their way out of Ukraine instead of fighting for their homeland ?

Now, sons of Russia, rise up!

Unleash the storm!

Drone warfare will not decide over victory.

WW2: "Bomber Harris" was sure he could bring Germany to it's knees, Germany was in ashes, but it took "boots on the ground" to finish the war.

Dmitry Medvedev (Putin's best friend) answered this question on the first day of the special military operation. Medvedev explained that Russia could not lose because it had enormous stockpiles of strategic nuclear weapons.

From day one, the plan was to win this way: by nuclear intimidation of the de facto decision-making center in Washington. Therefore, no one is rushing to deploy more than a certain minimum number of soldiers to Ukraine. Mobilization doesn't fit into this strategy, so it won't happen.

In Switzerland we harbour 70 thousand refugees from the Ukraine. Most of them not from "military challenged zones". A good part "able bodied man" between the age of 18 to 45 years old. They recieve the same financial social benefits as a person that has worked in Switzerland for 20 years that has fallen on "hard times". (Job loss, for example).

No further comment, but mad as hell.

Yes, while the NATO soldiers count their ammo. Lasting 2 weeks.

Unlikely. They will have access to Ukrainian medical records. They are literally treating some Ukrainian casualties in their countries. One of the impacts of the war is how the Ukrainian healthcare system has become digitized; people are still getting sick, falling pregnant. The healthcare system still has to function. Quite remarkable the innovation they have adopted in curating medical records. All of that data is easily accessed by Western agencies. A few months ago I was speaking to a Ukrainian diplomat in a certain north European country. The topic was how healthcare has been impacted. He related that in Ukraine, military hospitals had been shut down years ago, unlike in Russia. The result is that soldiers are treated on wards alongside civilians. Its difficult to hide your casualties then. In you know the numbers of combatant inpatients, you have a pretty good idea of losses. The West has over 120 years of detailed medical data to draw upon as a proxy.

Estimates of Russian losses are not merely what your Facebook/Telegram friends are doing.

Most likely the storm is only in the informational sphere. A common thing during elections. YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram are flooded with news about the mobilization. Once again, I'm amazed by the intellectual prowess of our leader, who blocks foreign social media in Russia. That's why no one is panicking before the elections and still wants to vote for the Tsar's party.

They fear the permanent demobilisation more 🤔

Good 👍

Overthrow Vlad, this stops.

Up to you.

Russia is getting ready for Total WAR! Defeat for Ukraine is certain!
