Definition of innate: Existing naturally rather than acquired; that seems to have been in one from birth: e. g. innate talent.

 

Can one really apply that to a snake? ????

Have to admit, I don't often become a 'grammar warrior', but that one did amuse me and I'm in a playful mood tonight. Perhaps I'd best get to bed!

As someone pointed out, this is a cat snake, Boiga multomaculata. Its slightly venomous and not dangerous to man, its cousins are the cat-eyed and mangrove snakes. s the link says they eat reptiles by preference, but as display animals they will eat ordinary pet snake foods. Hunting reptiles is ordinary for tree snakes in the tropical regions.
