webfact
Unicorn may be hard to find as Thai SMEs are behind in digitalization While most of Thailand’s neighbors have one or two unicorns to boast their success in digital transformation, Thailand is still looking for one. One of the reasons that a unicorn is hard to come by is the fact that Thai entrepreneurs are slow in adopting to digitalization. In 2017, only 28.7 percent of Thai companies used computer in their operation, despite an increase in tech adoption rate since 2012, according to the National Statistical Office of Thailand. Small companies are less likely to use technology in the workplace. Only 25.7 percent of companies, with less than 10 employees and representing 95.5 of the total surveyed companies, used computer in their operation. Large companies fared much better as 99.7 percent of companies with over 200 employees have embraced internet technology in their operation. AS the name suggests, an extreme rarity under the current economic climate? Anyway it is about money rather than digitization. yellowboat
Yet many digital nomads love Thailand and are treated like criminals. Can't see the forest, because all those trees are in the way.

Redline
Fear of change, lack of English skills, passivity, ignorance, lack of quality education, laziness, lack motivation to further learning after formal education, ignorance of the outside world, inability to follow rules, lack of discipline... Can’t be solved before the clock runs out ????
ThomasThBKK
Most unicorns are founded by immigrants: https://www.cnbc.com/2018/10/24/unicorns-with-immigrant-founders-include-uber-spacex-wework-palantir.html Guess who can't own a startup in Thailand? Yup immigrants. Find the error.
Frankie072
Thai economic development has stalled. It is not longer an "Asian Tiger", more a floor rub.
