The north and northeast region will see drops in temperature of 1-3 °C, with strong winds and clear skies as a strong high-pressure system continues to cover upper Thailand and the South China Sea, the Thailand Meteorological Department forecast on Wednesday (December 4).

Meanwhile, the strong northeast monsoon prevails across the Gulf causing high waves and heavy rain in the south. High winds in the upper Gulf from Chumphon northward will whip up waves 2-3 metres high and more than 4 metres high in the lower Gulf from Surat Thani southwards. The heavy rainfall is likely to cause some flash flooding and possible landslides.

The weather forecast for the next 24 hours is as follows:

Northern region: Cool to cold weather, temperature lows of 13-17 degrees and highs of 29-31 degrees Celsius. Temperature likely to drop to 6-10 degrees on hilltops.

Northeastern region: Cool to cold weather with strong wind, temperatures lows 10-16 degrees and highs of 25-28 degrees Celsius. Temperature likely to drop to 5-10 degrees on hilltops.

Central region: Cool weather and strong wind; temperature lows of 16-20 degrees, highs 28-31 degrees Celsius.

Eastern region: Cool weather and strong wind; lows 18-22 degrees, highs 29-31 degree Celsius; wave height 1-2 metres.

Southern region (east coast): Mostly cloudy with thunder showers in 70 per cent of the area and partly heavy rains; lows of 23-24 degrees, high 28-33 degrees Celsius; wave height 2-3 metres, increasing to 4 metres during storms.

Southern region (west coast): Mostly cloudy with thunder showers in 60 per cent of the area and partly heavy rains; lows 23-25 degrees, highs 29-33 degree Celsius; wave height 1-2 metres, increasing to 2 metres during storms.

Bangkok and surrounding area: Cool weather and strong wind; lows of 18-21 degrees, highs 29-31 degrees Celsius.

Locals going berserk with scarfs and jackets.. ????

I must be getting local. 14C this morning with just shorts and hoody. Finished cutting the grass so sweaty, thermometer says 28c and I put the hoody back on as it felt cold. There was a slight wind blowing.
