Just a quick post on successful retirement extension renewal today at Amnat Chareon IMO. Used the 65k monthly bank statement method. No issues at all. Took maybe 1/2 hour. For just in case needed I took more documents than necessary but this is what he kept

1) Copy passport pages, ID page, original Non O Visa page, TM6 page with last entry stamp page, previous extension page

2) Copy house book and wife Thai ID..For purpose of confirming address

3) 12 month bank statement..He also checked bank book showing update same day.

4) 2 photos

5) Copy of Bank book pages for last 18 month of FTT deposits

I had the completed forms TM7 and TM8 but as I was already in system he did not need. Entered updated info into computer and printed his own. 

He did not inquire about nor request proof of medical insurance. However he did tell wife that if I did not have I should get before next extension. I gathered from their conversation he thinks gov will soon be requiring insurance for all long stay visas. No intent here to spread rumors or gloom and soon. Only his take of the way things are headed.

Cost of extension plus multiple re-entry 5,700 baht

This is a reply i did to another post you did.

"At Jomtien you can do it up to 30 days early.

The problem with doing it early is that when changing the reason for your extension is that they start the new extension from the date you apply. They consider changing as canceling your current extension."

To answer Ubon Joe .. Did not need the  bank letter confirming account. Was expecting request but did not ask for. I had previously stopped by for lastest requirements. IO gave me copy in English of lastest police order. Confirmation letter was not listed as a banking requirement. I must add the IO I always deal with is professional and always cordial. Unfortunately was informed he intends to retire next year.
