Photo: DMCR PHUKET: A dead dugong found washed ashore at Koh Lanta yesterday (Dec 5) is the 23rd dugong to be found dead along the Andaman coast this year, reports Kongkiat Kittiwatanawong, Chief of the Phuket Marine Biological Centre (PMBC). The body of the dugong, a female estimated to be 30 years old, was found on the beach at Baan Hua Laem on Koh Lanta Yai, Krabi, at 5pm, Dr Kongkiat. Healthy dugongs can live up to 70 years of age. I wish the Thais had been born in Canada instead of here. They are ruining the paradise they were given. Let them go survive in the -30's then let them come back here ans see if they appreciate what they have... What a shame I love these creatures.
