Thailand to closely monitor measles cases

In response to reports of measles in many regions around the world, the Department of Disease Control has instructed the Division of Epidemiology and Division of Vaccines Against Preventable Disease to closely monitor any signs of measles spreading in Thailand and neighboring countries, Suwanchai Wattanayingcharoenchai, the department’s director general, said yesterday (December 11).

BANGKOK (Reuters) - Aboard a golden royal barge, King Maha Vajiralongkorn was rowed along the river winding through the oldest part of Bangkok on Thursday, as thousands of loyal Thais thronged the banks to see the final ritual of his drawn out coronation.

3-year-old Cambodian girl killed in construction site accident

The three-year-old daughter of Cambodian workers was crushed to her death by a truck at a construction site, Muang Samut Prakan Police Station in Samut Prakan province were informed on Thursday (December 12).

New plant species resembling owl discovered in Tak

A new plant species resembling an owl has been discovered by the Botanical Society of Thailand. The society posted on Facebook about the discovery on Wednesday (December 11). The new plant has been named “Phisawong Ta Nok Hook (mysterious owl’s eyes)” or “Thismia thaithongiana”.

Bangkok Bank enhances regional position with takeover of Indonesia's Permata

The Medical Services Department has unveiled Thailand’s first robot created to help surgeons in brain surgery on patients afflicted with epilepsy, a central nervous system disorder in which brain activity becomes abnormal, causing seizures or periods of unusual behaviour or sensation.
