In a country like China, the media is controlled by the state. And this is a problem.

 

But free media / free speech presents a different kind of problem. There is so much contradictory information and so many lies that no one knows what to believe. And a lot of the media is deliberately inflammatory. 

 

So I think Trump attacking the media is not a one-sided thing. The media is way too corrupt. They can print just about anything without any checks and balances.
