July And August In Chiangmai

Featured Replies

I'm thinking of spending July and August in Chiangmai. I want to get a feel for what it would be like to live there full-time. What I'm really wondering is how easy it is to get a social life going. Are their clubs, associations to join? Are golf lessons available?

I'm single, female, and in my late 40's. I'm not looking for romance. I'm simply interested in meeting people for social activities.

Thanks in advance.

Not many tourists take advantage of coming in rainy season. It's my favorite time of year here. Have fun.

Any connection there?

Also my favorite time of the year.

The Gymkhana club has a new website, still under development but does give a good impression of the club.

They do have a temporary membership, max. 3 months, that would give you a chance to try them out.

There are a couple of golfpro's giving lessons at the driving range or/and the course. Joop

It is too hot, but cooler than hot season with few tourists around.

I would think that a woman in her late 40's who likes meeting people, but has NO interest in romance would do very well here.

However, it must be one of the worst places in the world for a woman who is looking for love! :o

Hi!

Thanks for all your responses and the links.

I like the rainy season in Thailand, so not an issue.
