Andyfez
We have a house in Isaan, which we only live in intermittently. It seems that virtually every second visit we have to change the water pump (water into the house for general use). The water is quite salty in this area, and the pump seems to corrode very quickly. Government water has enough pressure to go into our water tank, and then the pump sends it into the house. Local plumbers simply tell us we wouldn't have this problem if we used it regularly. But we don't. Any suggestions what we should do to prolong the life of a pump?
Puchaiyank
Test your water...there is something in the water corrupting the pump parts...and anything else it touches. Place a filter prior to your water pump...consult with someone in your area that is familiar with your area's water. Your family deserves clean water...
worgeordie
If the water is salty, why don't you empty the pump and flush it with freshwater, when you leave, with no saltwater standing in it ,it should last a lot longer. regards worgeordie
Crossy
How is the pump failing? A lot of the cheap pumps seize if left unused and full of (even fresh) water. I would drain the pump and run it for a few seconds dry to spin out any remaining water, see if that help.
bankruatsteve
My jet pump will sometimes have a stiction issue after non-use. Now, I just leave the fan cover off and if I just get a buzz when plug in, I give the fan a spin and it is off and running.
mogandave
If running it once in a while will fix the problem, you could run a post-pump “drip” into the tank or down the drain drain such the that pump would cycle a few times a day.
