A national police spokesman has denied that there is a cover up after an 18 year old student was attacked at a well known school in Pathum Thani, north of Bangkok.

The sixth former was attacked on Friday with a broken bottle causing a five inch gash to the neck that needed 8 stitches.

People online claimed that the school was trying to hush up the incident to protect its reputation.

Pol Col Krissana Pattanacharoen said that the matter is being dealt with along official channels after a report was received from the victim's family to prosecute the matter fully.

A summons is in the offing.

Thai Rath reported that the assailant comes from a family with problems.

Well, that narrows it down to about 80 per cent of the population then.

I'd guess their problems are a shortage of cash to pay off the police.

Now they have one more... or maybe one less if the police do their job.
