My wife is going to Thailand with our daughter at the end of April. My wife has Thai and Icelandic passport. Our daughter has her Icelandic passport already but we haven't done anything yet to get Thai passport for her. Thai embassy staff fly to Iceland 1-2 times a year to issue Thai passports, so we don't know if they will be in Iceland before April.

The problem: I just booked a ticket for my wife and daughter. The duration of their stay is about 80 days. The plan was to get tourist visa for my daughter. I thought the tourist visa was 3 months (90 days) but it seems it's 2 months + 1 month extension. Some airline companies don't let people board with tourist visa if their duration of stay is between 60 and 90 days according to information from Thai Consular website in Iceland. This could be a problem or is our daughter going to be fine with tourist visa?

The simplest solution is to get Thai passport for my daughter but maybe it's not going to be possible in time since we don't know when the embassy staff is going to be here.

The child could enter Thailand visa exempt or with a tourist visa and if an overstay occurs there is no consequence other than a small overstay stamp in the passport-

If your wife can prove with documentation that the child is Thai the initial permission to stay can be extended to one year at any immigration office.

Why don’t you ask the airline that you’ve booked the ticket with.

Every airline should allow your daughter to fly, with any duration of onward flight, if she has a visa. It’s usually only travel without a visa that some airlines insist on an onward flight within 30 days.
