Comedian Rosie Jones shocks viewers with ‘disgusting’ and ‘totally inappropriate’ Greta Thunberg joke

Comedian Rosie Jones shocked viewers of The Last Leg after making a “disgusting” joke about Greta Thunberg.

 

While appearing on the New Year’s Eve edition of the Channel 4 comedy series, Jones remarked that while she admired Thunberg’s activism, the 16-year-old should be participating in more age-appropriate activity.

 

“I think Greta’s amazing and what she’s doing is brilliant, but don’t do it now,” Jones said. “She needs to live a little.”

 

“She’s only 16,” she continued. “She should be doing two things: drinking Lambrini and getting fingered.”

I think this is a really good joke of a comedian. Nothing much to get upset about.

I have Daughters and if somebody said this about mine they would need a Doctor, the girl is an absolute pain but this is over the top. Amazing that this has been said by a no doubt feminist.

When I saw the headline I thought: Probably it won't be so bad, just a politically correct overreaction.

And then I saw what she thinks is funny. Really? Maybe she should look for another job.

I can't see anything remotely funny about this.  Nor appropriate.  And I think Greta is a whiney little waste of time.  Just not appropriate to talk about a 16 year old in those terms.  Heck, adults either.  Comedy is supposed to be funny.  Reminds me of that woman comic in the US who held up a fake head of Trump.  Didn't see any humor in that either.

 

I don't find it particularly funny but certainly not offensive!!

 

 

You can get married at 16 in the UK. However you can't buy Lambrini.

 

Anyway, back to the bunker with all you outraged puppets making more of it than it is. It's late night comedy on a channel that introduced Bill Hicks to the UK 35 years ago. Were you a) squealing about his oral sex sketch then or b) laughing your heads off at it?

The job of a comedian is to be funny. There is very little that is off limits as far as subject matter In free societies. Was this funny? Would have to see the actual clip to give my opinion on that. Written is not the same. Can't find the clip. Let's see it!

I thought it was mildly funny. Could have been spoiled a bit by already knowing the script though. I see she's a funny personality by default as a jolly disabled person. I wouldn't be rushing out to see her at a club personally.

I can understand why you didn't find it funny but there is nothing wrong with the subject matter for material. People that think it is really don't watch much comedy.

I dunno.  I do like comedy.  I have no issues with raunchy comedy.  I didn't see anything funny there.
