Safe to enter smaller airports with SETV but long history?

Featured Replies

Hello,

I will fly back in a couple of weeks (after 1 month in my homecountry) and was planing to fly from singapore or kuala lumpur to an smaller airport like Surat Thani , Krabi or Hat Yai in south thailand.

I will try to get a 60 day SETV(single entry tourist visa) from my home country in the EU or enter with visa on arrival (30days) but my history from last 2years was 2xED visa and after that 2x 30 day visa on arrival (border run) + 2x 30 day visa extension (immigration bangkok) so i didn`t really left for 2 years.

will these airports be safe to enter or do they now make problems at all airports across thailand and only land crossings are safe?

Thanks

We know Krabi can be problematic, so scrub that as an option. For most of the smaller airports, we have too little feedback to come to any conclusions. There is limited evidence that U-Tapao airport is friendly.

If you have a visa, you could try flying in. If you want to enter visa exempt (best to use the correct terminology as the very different visa on arrival does exist for some nationals and has its own rules) then it is definitely safer entering by land
