I'm sure this has been asked before on many occasions but a search of TV did not produce the knowledge I need. So...

My Extension of stay (basis of Retirement) expires at the end of January. Assuming an expiry date of 31/1/2020, how many days grace do I have before and after the renewal date to apply for a new extension?

My office will do it 30 days in advance, but I don't think that there is any grace period after expiration of your current permission to stay, you will be on oversay.  I eaxpect that it will be up to the office how they would handle ant extension but they could make you leave, get a new viasa and start all over again.  Do it early to avoid finding out!

There is no period of grace beyond the extensions expiry date although if only a few days delay in renewing is involved immigration may renew the extension once the overstay fine is paid.

MY office allows 45 days in advance of expire. I usually do between 40 and 44 days.

NOTE1:

You loose NO time on a extension of stay.

NOTE2:

On a 90 day report, some have reported you can do 15 days in advance .... your report date is 90 days from report filed. My office allows 5 days in advance, I have personally seen people turned away for trying to file 6 days in advance.

BE SAFE!!! Ask your IO.

Also remember what you are told can change in a moment. Remember the TM-30 days of stress a short time ago.

This from immigration:

Quote

If you are a foreigner staying in Thailand for a period longer than 90 consecutive days holding a Non-Immigrant Visa or Extension of Stay, you are required by Thai Immigration to report your current address every 90 days.

You must file this report within 15 days before, or 7 days after, your 90-day period expires. However, if you leave Thailand anytime during the 90-day period, then the day count will restart from 1 upon your re-entry into Thailand.

I've been here 20 years and the 'window' has always been the same.  15 days before and 7 days after.

I'm pretty sure that doesn't happen.

Did it this past November...44 days prior to the 3 January expiration...at CW BKK. 45 is the max far as I've been told.
