MTF hormones

How easy is it to obtain MTF transsexual hormones in Thailand?

I would guess very easy given the number of trans women to be seen here, many obviously well kept and exceedingly feminine.

But I am no expert. Sheryl will probably give you an accurate answer soon.

I would suggest you seek specialist opinion and prescription, monitoring required on level achieved and it is always wise to be able to access good psychological support during the transition process. Monitor mood swings as hormone levels change, monitor effects on all vital signs.

This is not something which should be taken as an over the counter medication.

Do you have support in your home country as well ?

An irresponsible post was removed along with some replies to it.

There are a number of doctors specializing in MTF transition in Thailand. Hormone therapy can be obtained from them. It is extremely unwise to try to obtain it any other way, this is a complex process that needs careful monitoring.

The Preecha Institute is especially well known for this.  http://pai.co.th/about-facility/

Is there anywhere on the net, a guide to finding related healthcare in Thailand? In Thai language or not.

Searching in English turns up a lot of identity rubbish and politics, but a low focus on access to healthcare.

I only meant its hard to find anything about healthcare for gender dysphoria around the world. You find lots of political pressure groups, and news stories, but not actual help. What do the Thai do, the Cambodians, Singaporeans, Malaysians...

They manage on their own, or, if they have decided to transition, they go to doctors.

Are you living in Thailand?  While Thailand is a possible source for transition treatment it is not the best place for the counselling that should precede such a decision, especially for a non-Thai. Psychological services ion Thailand are weak to begin with and there are very, very few pyshcologists/psychiatrists interested in this field.

Counselling with a  with expertise in thsi  filed is where to start. you are more likely to find that in a Western country than in Thailand. If you reach a point where you are clear that you want to transition then yes, Thailand is an option.

I do not want a Western therapist, they are pushy and politically biased and I got the impression they are only in it for their own reasons, rather than healthcare. This is why Asian resources would be valuble to me and others, who are going to Bangkok or Phuket anyway.

As I explained not much if anything by way of therapists dealing with this here.  the various clinics who do gender reassignment have psychiatrists they use to sign off on it but I do  have the impression this is pretty much a formality.

A clinic has already been suggested, the best one for this in Thailand.

I really am not clear what else it is you want.

As opposed to what? Do not assume that Asian therapists are any better (or worse), as they have their own biases and common approaches. It's all about best fit. I expect that you probably had dealings with a western therapist and did not hear what you wanted to hear and are now looking for someone who will satisfy that emotional need. Your life, but these changes are forever changes so sometimes the western approach of  thinking things through and careful consideration isn't so bad.  BTW, do not listen to the comments that claim so many are on hormones, because they are not. The ladyboys are just very good at what they do, and have an advantage of not being overly masculine physiques to start with.

Just healthcare-based information, based on Thailand, or Southeast Asia. Thx for the Preecha link.

Sorry but I am still very unclear. Do you mean travel advice, immunizations to have before going?

If you mean description of the health care system, the government health system (public system) is described here

https://forum.thaivisa.com/topic/615461-the-thai-public-health-system/

But you will not be able to MTF hormone therapy or surgery through the government system.

The private system is quite straightfoward: fee for service, for hospitalization expect tp pay at least a deposit up front, you can make appointments by phine, email or online and do nto need any sort of referral, can appoint directly with whomever you want.  Costs are pretty high, very in case of the "top end" facilities.

If it is yet something else you want to know i suggest you ask the actual question here or PM me with it.

It is about professionalism. Without going into details, my experience was with pushiness, as someone tried to force an agenda on me. When I don't see why a health condition should be tied to LGBT at all.

I do not have a masculine physique, either. But that is not enough. Why would they not be on hormones, if they are readily available?

I was hoping to know of doctors popular with the Thai themselves. There must be resources by and for the Thai people, who I can read, that do not belong to the doctors, clinics, or hospitals.

I doubt it for several reasons: one, most Thais cannot choose their doctor as they receive care under the government health system. two, Thailand has extremely strict defamation laws which would prevent publishing frank assessments of doctors.

And if there was any such document it would be in Thai, not in English.

There is plenty of word of mouth here and that rather than wrioten guides is what people tend to rely on.
