Biting soi dog battered to death, claims foundation

Thai caption: Foundation worker batters dog to death

Animal lovers went to the police in Phan Thong, Chonburi after they claimed that foundation workers called to deal with a stray had ended up beating the dog to death.

A video showed the foundation workers capturing the animal and trying to deal with it. But police said there was no evidence yet that the stray - responsible for biting many people outside a convenience store - had been the subject of animal abuse.

No charges have yet been made as the investigation continues.

Pictures in the possession of Watchdog Thailand Foundation showed the dog dead in a rice sack.

Another unnamed foundation was hired by the Phan Thong municipal authority after they received complaints about the stray.

  • What about the violent biting dogs then? What's your suggestion? Any dog that unprovokedly attack humans, should be put down immediately.

  • If the government did their job and rounded up all these stray mutts ( millions all over the country) then no one would be bitten or kept awake all night from the noise  or have  rubbish bins overturn

IMHO - Violent killing of the dog is completely wrong.

If the government did their job and rounded up all these stray mutts ( millions all over the country) then no one would be bitten or kept awake all night from the noise  or have  rubbish bins overturned  blowing in the wind   cyclists, walkers, children

and responsible pet owners wouldn't be terrorised, road accidents reduced...and there would be no need or excuse to beat them to death but no.... too difficult ????

and the so called "animal lovers"  would rather have the rabid, mangy fleebags  on every street corner !

Yes, put down but not violently beaten to death.

The above is only an opinion.

Yes they should be dispatched humanely.

If a soi dog attacks you go for the kill, rabies injections can be 4k-17k baht, depending how much the hospital fleeces you

Pattaya City Hall are useless at removing dogs that have already bitten, what on earth do they do in that office

give them a biscuit

no but seriously, if a dog is attacking you and you have no means to protect yourself then violence might be you only course of action

but

if you work for a foundation and catching dogs is your job then there are better ways to deal with the dog than beating it to death with a club - how about catching it and giving it an injection

Yer,  lets all go around and beat the <deleted> out of him!   Or keep him in an institution so he can train other people to talk dog talk.  I'd pay a reasonable fee to learn dog talk.  My dogs are my best friends.......oh,  and my wife!  ????

well good. there are far too many stray dogs especially when you get over to the dark side. they sleep in the middle of the roads, the chase motorcys, they run in packs. I would NOT want to walk around after dark on the back roads without an electric stun baton.

Of all the simple things govt should do, managing the stray dog problem to protect the public, and seeing that garbage/trash pickup is done, they can't seem to manage either.

funny you say that, I've noticed soi dogs get more aggressive when a homeless person is temporarily with them, either feeding them or whatever

It´s the first word I get kinda stuck on here. Animal lovers??? So, now they are coming out when it´s to late! Giving all the sad tearful stories. How come there was no animal lover before the dog bite enough people and was beaten to death? Why did an animal lover not take care of the dog before it was too late. Where was all the animal lovers then?

And dogowners would feel more secure when walking their dog, they might even start doing so.

Then the same fate should await people who attack other people instead of a paltry fine. Hmmm, Vacuum.

They will probably suggest petting it to death, or giving it sooo much love that it dies.

They don't put animals down here, it is not the Buddhist way, even though none of them even come close to being a real one. ????

You really don,t understand.

Almost all these " Stray Mutts " belong to an owner, who will say " that,s my Dog " until something goes wrong .

Its just that many Thais do not look after their Dogs, Cats Pets, in the same manner as we do.

Oh poor dog! Bloody thing bites people repeatedly. I bet penny to pound if these animal lovers had their kids bitten or themselves they’d change their tune. The animal was a dangerous pest ... sorry it was beaten to death instead of quietly put to sleep but glad it ain’t about to bite any more innocent bystanders.
