To enter TH you need to pay 2000 THAI Baht and show 10,000BAHT?

Featured Replies

Hello

my elderly parents are travelling to next Week to from ITALY to TH: they will only stay 2 weeks.

Will they have to pay 2000 baht fee? (they do not have exchanged any money in Italy, there are 9 days left)

Also do they need to show proof of 10,000BAHT fndsin baht or EURO is fine as well?

If they are travelling on Italian passports there's no entry fee, visa exempt is free (ignore signs for Visa on Arrival, that's something quite different).

They should have the equivalent of 10k Baht (someone will correct me if I'm mistaken on the amount) in any exchangeable currency, Euros are fine.

The 2000 baht fee is only for a visa on arrival that Italians do not qualify for.

They will get a 30 day visa exempt entry when they arrive. No application or fee is needed. The could be asked to show the equivalent of 10lk baht in any currency by immigration but that seldom happens.

Euros are fine but it's highly unlikely that, as genuine tourists, they will ever be asked to show it.

If they're over 70, tell them to head for the Fast Track/VIP Immigration desk to save them having to wait in long queues.
