A show of aircraft along with other events enthalled children who attended the National Children’s Day event held by Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF) at Squadron 601, Wing 6 in Don Muang, Bangkok.

Air Force commander-in-chief, ACM Maanat Wongwat and president of the Air Force Wives Association, Dr Wilaiphon Wongwat, presided over the opening ceremony on Saturday (January 11).

The Air Force commander-in-chief conveyed his good wishes to all children, saying they were the hope, power, and future of the country.

“Children should know their duties; they should keep studying to familiarise themselves with modern technologies, have the discipline and humility to maintain love and unity among people, and do good things,” he said.

Many parents brought their children to wear a pilot suit and watch the air show of various aircraft, such as F-16 Fighting Falcon, AU-23 Peacemaker, T-50 Golden Eagle, EC725 Caracal, and JAS 39 Gripen.

The event featured a display of aircraft and weapons, military shows, performances by military dogs, stage performances and an exhibition of the Air Force and related agencies.

The event was aimed to inspire, provide knowledge and useful experiences to children interested in aviation, technologies and the military.

This year, the RTAF organised the event in both Don Muang, and in other provinces nationwide. In Don Muang, the Air Force organised the event in four areas: Squadron 601, National Aviation Museum of The Royal Thai Air Force, Chantarubeksa Air Force Stadium and Air Force’s Thung Si Kan Airport.
