Wendy Williams apologises for mocking Joaquin Phoenix's 'Cleft Palate'

Williams came under fire for mocking Joaquin Phoenix's 'cleft palate' (YouTube) 

 

Wendy Williams has publicly apologised after she was criticised for mocking Joaquin Phoenix’s cleft palate.

 

During the “Hot Topic” segment of The Wendy Williams Show on 7 January, Williams said that she found the Joker star “oddly attractive”, noting that she even liked the actor’s scar.

 

 “He knows how to transform, when he shaves [his beard] off, the way he looks at you,” Williams said. 

 

“And he’s got the good nose that dips way down, like he’s happy with it and so am I.”

First of all, I am absolutely thrilled to say I have no idea who she is. Second, she is mocking someone for a scar, or a physical defect. I am not a PC guy on any level. But, this is a fairly low blow. Totally unnecessary, in appropriate, and more than likely a sign of her intense jealousy of his talent, and the amount of recognition he has received, for a blistering and stunning performance. The man is a master actor. Phoenix has accomplished more in one year, than she will accomplish in her sorry lifetime. If she wants to taunt someone over their body or their bodily defects, she can start right at home. There is alot to work with right there.
