Otto blender smell like eleccal burn

Featured Replies

My blender is about 3 months old and still smells like hell. I just use it Every morning to make smoothie. Back at home I have Vitamix and it is still running odorless. Otto is not a Vitamix but should not sell. Is it time to buy new one?

I once had an Otto kettle, left it plugged in when not in use. Came home one day to find it had melted all over the worktop.

I'd buy a different brand if I were you!

Agree completely, always ever problems with that cheap brand and electrical smell means probably bad insulation inside the blender which means sooner or later melting down and possible fire in the kitchen...

From my personal experience, when selecting kitchen appliances in Thailand, there is one brand that one 'otto' not buy.

However, they do make comparatively cheap gifts for people that you may not really care for.

Buy a new quality blender, sell or give away thee old.  Do not put up with smell.

The smell does indicate it is getting hot.

Just use it 'til it stops.  The smell can't hurt anything and it will most likely not work one day and you will know time for another one.

Otto should be considered a consumable.  But it is cheap and does what it is intended to do for ever how long it works.

YMMV
