And yet, all of those employees go to work there voluntarily and can resign and go elsewhere whenever they feel they are being treated unfairly.  If it were true, no one would work there; and Amazon would be no more.

Amazon pays the best wages around. If you lack skills and your only way to earn is to rent your time Amazon gives a high premium for jobs requiring only opposable thumbs.

In fact the pay is higher than what Bernie pays his staff.

So the democrats have done everything possible to get the democratically elected president out of office since he term started. Whether you like him or not the election process voted him in democratic

  • The problem is that Democrats have been screeching this and other similar messages so incessantly, no one even cares anymore.

  • accepting the loss requires wisdom - and sadly it is in a short supply in this case

Even if we take your figure of 70% it doesn't matter what 70% of voters want when it comes to the senate trial. Just as the Supreme Court isn't run by a majority poll. The voters choose people to do this for them when they elect the officials.

The checks and balances worked just as the founding fathers intended them to. Ranting on and on won't accomplish anything. Let's see what the people really say in November.

You are correct, and there is an election coming.

And in the interim more news of Trump’s crimes.

Yep.

There's a move underway by the Left to demonize Amazon in the same way that they repeatedly attack Walmart.  If it was horrible to work there, mistreated employees can go wherever they wish and work in better conditions -- or start their own businesses.  Free Markets and Individual Liberty are wonderful things.

I read some of the replies of the trump supporters in this thread , and if that's not an indication that our democracy is in trouble, I don't know what is.

We just reject the perpetual state of pessimism that is so striking on the left. At some point you have to take accountability for yourself instead of sitting around blaming everybody else. It's the corporations, it's the government, it's climate change.

Cornflakes taste better when you don't start every morning under the assumption some evil entity has peed in them.

So it isn't the swamp, after all?

Well, if the Constitution required Amazon to be a nationwide service and to deliver not only mail but letters to areas where it makes no economic sense you would have a better point.

And maybe you think Amazon's inhumane treatment of workers is a good thing? Amazon is a bottom feeder and it chews up its warehouse workers.

Good point about Amazon. The way they treat their workers is awful.  My husband's sister has a son who worked there. They track you every second. If you go to the bathroom too much your pay gets docked. After you punch out they make you wait for a security check. Sometimes half an hour.

I voted for Trump because I wanted some in office who would <deleted> off all the current establishment.  I think he's succeeded in doing that.  Now, if he'd just shut up once in awhile and focus on business, I'd appreciate it.

I see you are into your spirited defense of a corporation again, last time it was Boeing, until your defense became untenable.

Let’s see how this one runs.

I usually give the benefit of the doubt. I even did that for Smollett. But yes when it was clear Boeing done goofed I changed my position. That is something the left is incapable of. You people are simply never wrong according to you. I try to be a bigger man than that and am willing to change my mind if it is warranted.

People that need to go to the bathroom too much should see a doctor.

People that spend an hour in the stall playing with their phone likely don’t do well at Amazon, which directly benefits the workers that focus on getting their work done and indirectly benefits consumers.

Don’t worry, you husband’s sister’s son (would that not be your nephew?)  will do fine in a civil service job.

Just a FYI the Iowa caucus is being counted now. It's good fun to watch.

The greatest threat to democracy is from those politicians that misuse the constitutional tools to remove someone they disagree with. Elections are the peoples remedy to remove such rascals from office, be they Democrats or Republicans.

I posed the question if a Democrat president behaved in the same way that Trump has would the Republicans respect the Democrat's right to rule in the same fashion. I referred to Trump's attempted extortion of the Ukrainian president.   So far I have had one response suggesting that that I am a poor loser and a crybaby..   I have no skin in the game so it is not mine to lose..  If Bernie Sanders were to become president.. like it or not it is a possibility.  If he starts implementing his policies by executive order are the Republicans going to accept that as the new order?

I suppose you would like us removed? Re-educated? Banned? Our candidates removed from the ballot? Our districts flooded with illegal immigrants? The voting age lowered to 16 while indoctrinating our children? An end to the electoral college? Non-citizen voting? Trouble indeed.

They would have to take the guns first. At least history shows us that's the usual move to pursue.

Yes I welcome November. The difference is if I don't get the result I like I won't cry and cry and cry some more about it. And then start to figure out how I can scam the system to take out my opponent.

There have been several presidents that I dident care for so far in my lifetime.never have I felt they were a danger to our democracy that I hold dear I think many others feel as I do donald trump has shown time and time again he is incapable of working within our system that’s not crying that’s alarm if it helps you rationalize your support for him oh well whatever floats your boat me I’m not a mark I know a con when I see it

Watching how they run the caucus in Iowa gives me a laugh at how they would run a government. I never watched closely but this looks like a high school homecoming contest meets America's got talent and is an actual official political procedure.

No wonder they couldn't keep an impeachment case going.

I disagree with your contention that the President of the United States attempted to extort Ukraine. The only extortion I have seen, and not an attempt but an actual monetary extortion, was by Joe Biden, who used his son Hunter's company to launder his 3 million in Bribe money for providing protection to Burisma. BAM SHUCKULUKALUKA! Take it to the bank!

Trouble is "the voters" only have 2 choices and both are corrupt in their own way.

Checks and balances hasn't gotten anyone in the USA free health care or higher education as most every other first world nation provides.  Military and armaments come first, and the 535 members of congress take care of themselves second.  Got to have a congress even if they are not serving the people.

Their only concern is having enough corporate backers to get them re-elected every 4-6 years

The main concern will be when there aren't enough corporations to tax. $60 trillion is a lofty sum. The number can be debated but the talk is in trillions.

Nothing in this world is free. No nation on earth provides free healthcare. What differs is simply how it is paid for.

In Trump’s case, impeachment was justified to hold him accountable for his his behavior that threatens every American’s right to free and fair election. The senate is the bigger threat as they cover-up for POTUS shameful and wrong behavior.

Good point. Amazon comes to mind. From where I'm standing, the two major parties have implicitly (if not explicitly) agreed to an incredibly low standard for the American people.

Yes; got to hand it to AOC. She was able to save New York from Amazon!

Get rid of those old f@rts in senate for example.

No more then 4 years for every politician/senator/governor or anyone else owns one of those seats.

Just before they get greedy and abuse their power for favors in their own benefit and want to stay in that system forever.

Confirming your insightful observation, the Democracy Index downgraded USA from full to flawed democracy since 2016. Defined as issues relating to underdeveloped political culture, low levels of participation in politics and issues in the functioning of governance.
