Dear Folks, a. How do you know if you are getting what you pay for? b. You pay for your energy, but do you get the quality of electrical energy that you think you are paying for? c. This is why I will spend a bit of money, maybe only about NTD2000, or less to buy an Eastron SDM230-Modbus Mobus which I plan to connect directly to one of my LEAP 16.1 computers. d. Every time the power fails, or browns out, I have no supporting data to provide to the local power company. e. However, for very little money, if I can connect my MOBUS to my socket, then I can gather important data which can be saved and supplied, as need be. f. When we call the power company, and report an outage, or a brown-out, then we mostly get the SAME OLD LINE...."What did YOU do wrong to cause this problem?".... g. So, anyway, do you think this EASTRON unit will meet my needs? h. Here are the specs: i. I plan to interface this with my LEAP 16.1 Linux computer, thanks to Torvalds, and collect the data required to change the energy world of our neighborhood. j. Is this a good idea? k. Most readers are old as an old hat, and this is only to be expected. Most people here do not know how to collect accurate data, over continuous time, and then save it in a HISTOGRAM. This is the only way, however, if one wishes to present usable and constructive data to the local power company. Otherwise, how can we help the local power company to do its job? IDK....
