A State Railway of Thailand committee has approved a maximum fare ceiling of Bt25 per person per trip for off-peak hours on the Airport Rail Link Skytrain from Suvarnabhumi Airport to Phya Thai stations. 

 

The off-peak hours are from 5.30am to 7am, 10am to 5pm, and 8pm to 12pm. 

 

The director-general of the Department of Land Transport, Jirut Wisaljitr, said the committee chaired by him had approved the measure, which is aimed at reducing personal car use to deal with PM2.5 and air pollution.

 

The proposal will be sent to the Airport Link railway office next week. The measure is expected to begin in March.
